EVALUATION & RESEARCH
Experienced in identifying program strengths and providing insights into areas that need change, NatureTalks offers result-oriented research services: evaluations to help improve an existing program and qualitative research to identify issues and solutions in urban forestry and environmental education.
"NatureTalks was awarded a grant by Hawaii’s Kaulunani Urban and Community Forestry Program to complete an assessment of its competitive urban forestry grant program. The Kaulunani Council wanted to know how the grants were working and perceived in the community and if the program was achieving its purpose. Dr. Carroll, in interviews with grant recipients, identified characteristics of project success which were important indicators for streamlining our assistance to community; and uncovered valuable information about where changes needed to occur to better serve future grant recipients. This assessment was tremendously valuable to the program and still serves as a standard for how the program operates."
